Marvin L. Stone at his desk at the U.S. News & World Report building. Stone joined the firm as a Pentagon reporter in 1960, beginning a twenty-year association with the news magazine. In 1966 he was promoted to an Associated Editor and two years later he was advanced to Associated Executive Editor. In 1972 he became the Senior Associated Executive Editor and two years later he was promoted to Executive Editor. In 1976 he was advanced to Editor-in-Chief and Vice President, which positions he held until he retired in 1985. • • BACK • •
