On “Jesse Stuart Day” Stuart inscribed
all the books of the Jesse Stuart
Collection that had not been previously
autographed. He typically inscribed the
books with the following words,
“Autographed for the definitive Jesse
Stuart Collection Marshall University -
Jesse Stuart Feb, 18th 1976.”
Inexplicably, he dated all his
inscriptions February 18, 1976, although
the day was November 18, 1975. A few of
the books of the collection can be seen
to Stuart’s left. |
