Land of the Honey Colored Wind was brought
together by the Jesse Stuart Foundation
as a tribute to the author and as a
means to bring his writings to the
Kentucky's eighth-grade readers. It contains
both stories (11 in number) and poetry
(27 in number), suitable
for youth. It was underwritten by the
Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels and was meant to be a
resource book to be used in the
classroom, so included suggestions
to both the teacher and the students, as
well as Dale-Chall Readability ratings
for each of the stories.
