  • The MA in Literacy Education is a 30-hour degree leading to WV Reading Specialist Certification (Pre-K-Adult).
  • Classes are offered 100% online with 3-4 virtual meetings.
  • Face-to-Face meetings are available.
  • All program courses must be completed within seven years of start date with a maintained minimum GPA of 3.0.
  • The Certificate in Literacy Education is an 15-hour program leading to a WV Reading Endorsement that attaches to the initial teaching license, Pre-K-5/ 6-12 (Pre-K-Adult).
  • Classes are offered 100% online with 3-4 virtual meetings.
  • Face-to-Face meetings are available.
  • All program courses must be completed within seven years of start date with a maintained minimum GPA of 3.0.
  • The Ed.S. is a degree program for experienced, post-masters candidates seeking to enhance and advance their professional knowledge and applications in the area of Literacy Education.
  • In some cases, the degree may qualify candidates for horizontal and vertical movement in an existing professional career, for advanced salary classifications within the K-12 education sector, for acquiring new positions within a given specialist discipline, or to be concurrently enrolled in the MU Doctoral Program.
