The Marshall University Mathematics Competition is a three-hour,
written examination of seven to ten questions.
Rather than a test of students' abilities to recall factual information, the
Competition is designed to test students' mathematical creativity and their
ability to formulate and defend their conclusions. Each interested school may
send a team of three students. Students may use graphing
calculators during the examination. Successful participants generally have
completed mathematics courses at least through trigonometry.
