PELCO 9500 Coater

This system enables the user to coat any sample with a thin ( 0 – 10 nm typically) conductive layer of carbon or gold via evaporation. Such thin conductive coatings reduce the problems associated with charging, the result of bombarding an insulating material with the electrons in an electron beam imaging system. The particle size and the limited thickness of the coating usually assure that the coating itself does not introduce artifacts, or errors into the images.
