Keith Albee Scholarship Program

In an effort to encourage more underrepresented groups to pursue graduate degrees, Marshall University reserves a designated number of Graduate Assistantships for African-American students who have obtained or are in the process of obtaining baccalaureate degrees from West Virginia State College.

Multicultural Scholarship Program

In an effort to encourage more underrepresented groups to pursue graduate degrees, Marshall University reserves a designated number of Graduate Assistantships for African-American students in the Ronald McNair Scholars Program who have obtained or are in the process of obtaining baccalaureate degrees from Concord College. Graduate Assistantships provide a stipend paid every two weeks and a tuition waiver which covers all tuition expenses except the student activities fee. In exchange, Graduate Assistants either work full-time (a maximum of twenty hours a week) doing research in collaboration with a professor, teaching one or two classes, preparing a laboratory or performing various clerical tasks assigned by the employing academic department or unit, or they work halftime (a maximum of ten hours a week).
