- Adopt A Highway and Stream Cleanup-

Next Cleanup: Feb 9th @ 2

Nov 13th

Courtney is checking into adopting a stretch of Madison Ave on the West end of town through the Division of Highways. The DOH will provide bags and arrange for pickup afterwards. We could also clean up the stream (Four Pole Creek) in that area.

Our last road/stream cleanup on Nov 9th was very successful, and we filled up everyone's cars with trash.

Jan 23rd

MESA is going to volunteer for the Adopt A Highway program. We will be cleaning up a section of Madison Avenue near the Wayne County line. We are required to do three cleanups a year for a two year period, with at least 30 days between each cleanup. Gloves, bags, vests, and disposal of the trash will all be provided by the DOT. The DOT needs to be notified 24 hours in advance in order to arrange for trash pickup. After our first cleanup, they will put up an Adopt A Highway sign along the road for MESA.

Our first cleanup is scheduled for FEB 9th at 2. Meet at the receiving doors outside Morrow. (If there is bad weather, the alternate date is Feb 23rd at 2.)
