Mesa Meeting for 10-29-2001

 Attendance:
Courtney, Pete, Sarah, Brooke, Adam, Jeremy, Tiff, Noah, Jim, Dr. Little, Justin, Chris

 CEN:
Dr. Little, Justin and Sarah will set up a meeting with Ron Shelling at MURC to get an account for CEN money. Jim Hill already has sponsors waiting with money

 River Cleanup:
Stream Cleanup Scheduled for Four Pole Creek Friday, Nov 9th from 2-4 pm. Meet at Morrow Library parking lot at 1:30 pm. Supplies (trash bags, gloves, etc.) will be provided.

 SWA:
It was suggested at the Solid Waste Authority Conference that a few members of MESA might attend some local SWA meetings. Students in Sam Colvin’s class already have been working with the SWA on projects, and could go as MESA reps. Also, Justin and Jim will talk to Sam about a possible Recycling grant through the SWA and the waste audit at Marshall.

 Earth Day:
Possible Earth Day Idea for the spring—have a speaker for WV/environmental issues. Two candidates: Joanne Burkholder and the author of a recent book on WV coal mining history that is on Sen. Byrd’s staff. Dr. Little will look into scheduling.
