Byrd Bio-tech Science Center Assignments

The University's integrated scheduling software system, Resource 25 (R25), allows Registrar Bert Ferguson (fergusor@marshall.edu) to schedule classes and allows the Facilities Scheduling Office (Linda Bowen, bowenl@marshall.edu) to schedule special events in 101, 102, 125, 127, 128, 130, 203, 204, 205, 206, 211, 220, 239 and the lobbies on the first and second floors.  The two auditoria are rooms 101 and 102.  For other uses, see * below.

Room 101 is reserved for the SOM from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. daily.  After 1:30 p.m., the COS has first right to reserve this space.  If the COS is not using 101, it is available to other academic units that want to use it for classes (they should check with Mary Waller in the Registrar's Office at 696-2260).

The COS and graduate SOM programs will coordinate class assignments in room 102.  If room 102 is not used by these two units, the room may be assigned to another class needing the space (again, check with the Registrar's Office).

The COS schedules teaching labs in 125 and 127.  The SOM schedules 128 and 130 through Lisa Watts (lwatts@marshall.edu) or 696-1734.

Wayne Elmore, Associate Dean of the COS, will send the Registrar the semester's classroom schedule for BSC classes in BBSC signed by Vernon Reichenbecher.

Wayne Elmore, Vernon Reichenbecher, and Roberta Ferguson will resolve conflicts over classroom space allocation.  When the M.D. program is involved , Sarah McCarty will be consulted.

Requests to reserve the BBSC Computer Lab (room 220) may be directed to Holly Simpkins (holly.simpkins@marshall.edu) or 696-3556.

The conference rooms are scheduled as follows:
Conference room 239:  Mike Norton (norton@marshall.edu) or 696-6627.
Conference room 334:  Anita "Gigi" Mathis (mathis@marshall.edu) or 696-7322.
Conference room 433:  Jenny Nelson (nelsonv@marshall.edu) or 696-7313

The Facilities Scheduling Office will schedule rooms 101, 102, and the lobbies (first and second floors) for special events when rooms are available.  Reservations can be made online at http://marshall.edu/msc/reservation/reservation.asp or call 696-3125.  The Dean of the COS and Associate Dean Niles, SOM, will decide on uses of space for special events.  The Facilities Scheduling Office may schedule conference and seminar rooms with permission or the individuals identified throughout this policy statement.  Tours will be limited as per guidelines proposed by Jean Gilman, Director of Recruitment, Diana Maue, STEM Admissions Recruiter, and John Maher (maherj@marshall.edu), the Vice President for Research (guidlines to be determined).  When the COS schedules room 101 for Open Houses, tables will be returned to their original places by 8:00 a.m. Monday for BMS students.

Limited social use of space in the BBSC must be approved by the Vice President for Research, John Maher (maherj@marshall.edu).
