Mentoring Program
The Center for
Teaching and Learning (CTL) has officially launched a
mentoring program for new faculty. Offered annually to
new faculty interested in meeting regularly with a
seasoned faculty member from a different department,
this program will begin each year with a “speed
mentoring” event. During this event, potential mentors
and mentees are matched according to shared
professional interests. “The idea first emerged from
the work MU-ADVANCE had been doing to improve retention
of new female faculty in STEM disciplines,” said Sherri
Smith, Executive Director of CTL. Faculty interested in
serving as mentors for Academic Year 2010-11, should
contact
Sherri Smith
for more information.
