MU-advance Search Enhancement 1) MU-ADVANCE New Faculty Fellowship a) A new faculty fellowship of $10,000 is obtainable for new tenure-track female STEM hires. 2) MU-ADVANCE Resources To Recruit and Advance: Women Students and Faculty in Science and Engineering (2006) is a comprehensive guide on how to address issues of recruitment, retention, and the advancement of women. More specifically, the book examines the three types of women found in university science and engineering departments on campus: students, faculty and administrators. The book is available for loan in the MU-ADVANCE office (S-200A). 3) Assistancea) MU-ADVANCE assistants are available to help with paperwork, routing, interview timeline, etc. 4) Assistance for Search Committees a) A MU-ADVANCE liaison is available for each search committee. b) MU-ADVANCE developed the following guides that point out unconscious biases that can occur throughout the search process as well as best practices for the search process. c) The Office of Equity Programs also offers the following guides: c) MU-ADVANCE representatives also meet with female STEM candidates to discuss opportunities at Marshall and the MU-ADVANCE Program. MU-ADVANCE representative also meet with the male STEM candidates so they know about our programs which target both genders (i.e. mentoring, tenure and promotion assistance, collaborative grants). |
