Dual Career Services:

Dual Career Initiative: Overview
The MU-ADVANCE Dual Career Initiative applies several strategies to support faculty recruitment at Marshall. In response to our study of STEM applicants who indicated that Dual Career resources would be helpful, the MU-ADVANCE program developed this Dual Career Service in partnership with the Career Services Office to assist faculty seeking to relocate to the Tri-State Area. This initiative has now been adopted as a university-wide effort available to all departments.

The Dual Career Services is an outcome of the MU-ADVANCE Recruitment Initiative which has provided funds to improve recruitment, such as assistance in advertising, travel funds to meetings, where a pool of potential candidates will be present, and the establishment of a committee to assist STEM departments in faculty searches. MU-ADVANCE also will network with professional organizations in the area to inform female Ph.D.s of opportunities at Marshall. A broader impact of this initiative will be to improve gender equity within STEM departments
and will provide networking opportunities and resources for MU faculty, especially new faculty.
