MU-ADVANCE Recruitment Efforts
Application data collected by MU-ADVANCE for
the 2006/2007 academic year for tenure-track
positions in the science, technology,
engineering and mathematics (STEM)
disciplines shows that half the offers were
to female applicants, but fewer than half of
those chose to come to Marshall. Dual career
conflicts were cited in a couple of cases
where the candidates declined offers.
Candidates who accepted offers indicated
research opportunities, facilities, and
impression of the department as the most
important factors in their decisions.
