In July 2007, Dr. Michelle Douglas joined
Marshall as the new Director of Equity Programs.
Dr. Douglas began her career at Morehouse
College in Atlanta, Georgia, as the Acting Chair of
the African-American Studies Program, where she also
taught History. From there, she went on to become
the Assistant Director of the Office of Equity and
Campus Diversity at Buffalo State College in
Buffalo, New York. Most recently, she was the
Director of Cultural Diversity and Student
Activities at the Ashland Community and Technical
College in Ashland, Kentucky. Dr. Douglas will help
MU-ADVANCE continue the Program’s efforts to
encourage search committees to be equitable and
diverse in choosing candidates.
