The Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra has added to the rich cultural heritage of Israel and the region for over eight decades. For this 80th Anniversary Tour, Dimitry Yablonsky (Principal Guest Conductor of the Moscow Philharmonic), and Conductor Laureate of the JSO, will present a program featuring:

• TCHAIKOVSKY: The Khojaly Requiem;
• SAINT SAENS: Cello Concerto No 1, Op. 33 A minor, featuring Cello Soloist, Danielle Akta,
• RACHMANINOV: SYMPHONY # 2, Op. 27

Israeli teenage virtuoso Danielle Akta will be the guest soloist on cello. The thirteen-year-old phenom first picked up the cello at the age of four.

The Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra was founded in 1936 as the Palestine Broadcasting Service Orchestra. In the 1970s, the orchestra was expanded into the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra, Israel Broadcasting Authority.

A special pre-show discussion - Artistic Viewpoints - will be held prior to the show from 6:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the Keith-Albee.
