There is no other woman in the world of op- era like Carmen, the heroine of Georges Bizet well-known masterpiece. Along with a full orchestra, Teatro Lirico D'Europa will present Bizet's indelible portrait of the willful Gypsy woman conveyed through a forceful, beguiling, and unforgettable score.

Considered Bizet's greatest work, "Carmen" is an operatic tour-de-force. This opera is the tragic tale of Carmen and her lover, Don Jose. It is incredibly dramatic, often times irrational and always brilliant. Set in the 19th century in the Spanish city of Seville, amorous passion erupts into high drama.

"Carmen makes one's heart sing," says The Boston Herald. "ENSEMBLE CAST SIZZLES in Teatro Lirico's CARMEN! says The Boston Globe.

What makes this company so worth seeing is that its priorities are always right. Opera exists to melt our hearts—and Teatro Lirico D'Europa does just that.

Performed in French with English supertitles.
