The United Methodist Student Organization at Marshall University provides students with an opportunity to grow spiritually and gain leadership experience. UMS meets on Thursday nights at 9:05 P.M. Other activities include: retreats, mission trips, service projects, worship teams to local churches, movie nights and many other special group and social activities.
The United Methodist Students connect Marshall students with the West Virginia United Methodist Student Movement and the National United Methodist Student Movement featured at "On the Move"
·UMS emphasizes volunteerism as an intricate part of college life.
We sponsor work groups with: · Habitat for Humanity - we work each week at the Habitat build and travel to various locations for spring break.
· St. John's House - An after school ministry which gives students the opportunity to work each week with children in government subsidized housing.
· Interfaith Volunteer Caregivers - We work to give assistance to elderly and disabled persons.
