This unique collection of works by West Virginia artists, on the South Charleston campus of the Marshall University Graduate College, was created for three reasons.

First was to give the building a sense of humanity, which could only be achieved through art and its link to imagination. A second reason was to provide a place for the community to view, appreciate, and enjoy art. The third reason was to showcase the outstanding work and talent of West Virginia artists.

In the words of the curator, Callen McJunkin, this collection “celebrates art for art’s sake, not art as accessory. The happy result is an adventurous and varied gathering of works by some of West Virginia’s finest artists; a collection that offers endless opportunity for dialogue and exploration.”
