Summer Thesis Research Grants
|
|
The Graduate College awards several Summer
Thesis Research Grants for the period covering the end of the Spring
semester to June 30 of each year. Graduate students who have approved thesis
projects may apply for a $500 grant to underwrite their research efforts.
Application forms are available in the Graduate Dean’s Office, 113 Old Main
or by following these links for a
Microsoft
Word document or an Adobe PDF document.
Criteria for Selection
1. Quality and significance of the thesis research,
2. The likelihood that the research will eventuate in
a completed thesis,
3. The financial situation of the student.
Conditions
1. The student will be offered a three-hour waiver to
cover tuition. (The student may apply for up to three hours toward thesis
credit.)
2. In most cases, grant recipients may not hold a
graduate assistantship simultaneously.
3. The student will need to submit a progress report
to the Graduate Dean’s Office at the termination of the grant period (June
30 of the year in question). A completed thesis, if available at that date, may be submitted
in lieu of a report.
Implementation
The Committee determining the award recipients will
consist of graduate students, faculty, and the Graduate College Dean.
