Please give yourself plenty of time to ensure your payment reaches Marshall University by the deadline.

In most cases you can expect to receive a billing statement from the university, but it is university policy that if you fail to receive a billing statement you are still responsible for meeting the payment deadline. If that deadline is not met, your registration will be cancelled.

If you have a question about fees, billing or payment options, please visit the Bursar website.

Financial Assistance: Grants/Loans/Scholarships
Students enrolled in MUOnLine courses are eligible to apply for financial aid in the same way as students enrolled in "bricks and mortar" classes. The Office of Student Financial Assistance website has all the necessary information. Please note that non-degree students are not eligible for financial aid.

Payment deadlines are posted on the Office of the Bursar website. In most cases you can expect to receive a billing statement from the university, but it is university policy that if a student fails to receive a billing statement the student is still responsible for meeting the payment deadline. If that deadline is not met, the course registration will be cancelled.

Does Marshall University accept military tuition assistance and training/experience credit?

Yes. MU does accept military tuition assistance. Please submit all of your required material at least a month before classes begin. Marshall also accepts credits for military training, education, and experience as recommended by the American Council on Education (ACE) Guide and described on the Army’s AARTS and Navy/Marine SMART transcripts. The applicable academic department determines what, if any, credits count toward a specific degree. There is, however, one exception: the Regents Bachelor of Arts degree, a general studies degree with no specific major or minor, accepts all of the recommended credit toward the 128 hour degree requirement. MUOnLine and the Student Activity Fee

IMPORTANT NOTICE: Online course tuition is assessed at a flat rate. This rate is assessed for ALL online courses and is separate from tuition assessed for any other courses you may be enrolled in. If you are a full-time student taking traditional courses and add an online course, you will be charged the online course tuition in addition to the tuition for your full-time traditional courses.

The online course fee is used solely to fund the online course delivery system. No part of the online course fee is used to support student activity or athletic programs. Online course credit hours do not count toward full-time status eligibility for student activities.

See the Bursar's Office or the Tuition page for more information.
