Faculty Support

Marshall University Online offers a variety of support resources to assist faculty in the development and teaching of their online courses, course supplements, and use of multimedia for the traditional classroom.

The Faculty Development Committee for Online and Multimedia Instruction (FDCOMI), together with the staff of the Center for Instructional Technology uses a team approach to meet your course support needs. We have student instructional designers, graphics and audio/visual experts, technical advisors, and faculty mentors.

The Faculty Resource Center, located in CB 211, is a one-stop resource place to meet and address all your online instruction needs. Staffed by a team of experienced student instructional designers, the Faculty Resource Center is where Marshall University faculty go to get help with their multimedia projects and online courses.

Please feel free to attend any and as many workshops as you wish.
Seating is limited for each session, so please register at the site.

Marshall University Online Users Groups
Please join one of our Users Groups! Our members range from beginners to advanced users, and this is a terrific way to meet other faculty users of Vista! Members share questions and strategies, and compare notes as to what each is doing in the online teaching world.

Marshall University Online Users Groups meet monthly, and are open to all full and part time faculty! The meetings provide updates and information about WebCT-Vista, serve as a discussion forum for current policies concerning the delivery of online courses, and include demonstrations of “best practices” by faculty in their own online courses. This is a great opportunity to learn new teaching strategies online. No need to sign up - just show up!
