About MUOnLine

Welcome to MUOnLine, Marshall University's portal to online instruction!

Marshall University is proud to offer more than one hundred courses to more than four thousand students worldwide along with the support services vital to their success.

Our online courses are designed for students who prefer to learn outside the physical classroom, according to their own schedules. Our goal is to offer Marshall University courses with a method of online delivery that will expand student access to our programs, courses, and services and that will provide them with a high quality educational experience.

Until the spring of 2008, our online courses used WebCT-Vista, a popular web-based course management system. The e-course management system is now called Blackboard Learning System, Vista Enterprise 8, and includes all of the former tools and components with some new additional Blackboard features.

The MUOnLine Design Center resource lab in Comm. Bldg. 211 is open from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, and is a great place to drop in and get assistance, or make an appointment for in-depth training and development help.

The courses offered at MUOnLine are developed by the Marshall University instructors who teach them. These courses reflect the same scope and depth of material and earn the same college credit as the traditional classes offer. All of the learning tools that students need--syllabi, course materials, email, assignments, tests, communications, etc.- are contained in each course.

If you are interested in working toward your educational or professional goals anytime, anywhere, anyplace, please take some time to navigate our site and join the MUOnLine community!
