Computer Safety


A. Provide locked spaces for computers and support hardware.

B. Isolation of computer labs from other portions of the building with separate perimeters.

C. Secure doors for the prevention of intrusion to the computer spaces

D. Protection of windows.

E. High levels of illumination around perimeter.

F. Isolate increasingly sensitive, higher risk spaces with increasing levels of access.

G. Control circulation of though specific entry points where a staff presence is available.

H. Find some way to lock equipment down in a way that you would need a key to release it.

I. Use Disk Drive Locks to restrict access to disk drives.

J. Use passwords that are not easily discovered.

K. Use back-up of all important files.

L. Use anti-viruses to keep from internal damage to computers.
