Meetings will be held once a week in the Memorial Student Center. The meetings will take place on Fridays at 7:00 p.m. Rooms and times may vary.
Each week we cover a different kind of poetry. Let's say one week we cover Haiku. At that meeting, we discuss what a Haiku is, talk about how to write it, read a couple of examples and anything else we would like to talk about. Over the course of the week, members of the club are expected to try and write a Haiku. The next meeting is where we share what we have written. This process continues once again when we are done sharing. Another type of poetry will be covered. The circle goes on.
You don't have to write; you don't have to read. All we ask is that you come to the meetings and listen. Whether you write and read your work is your decision, and your decision alone. If you want to share, that's great.
We all become better poets by learning from our
triumphs and our mistakes.
