Pinch Creek IV

Hike in (45-50minutes) from confluence to 12 footer down to Glade Creek confluence

1.5 miles (Last mile at 200fpm)

Finally! Pinch is pretty interesting especially if you like things fast and steep.  Ken Cooper showed us down his little gem which splits Glade into Upper and Lower.  Glade was somewhere between 2ft and ? (Call it high).  Local rainfall was around 1.5 inches it a short time.  Lots of good boofs and slides.  Good bit of wood to watch out for.  The big drop is a 30 foot sloping falls which is something to see (see video).  At the putin is a 12 footer with some punch.  My most memorable drop was what Kenny called Twist and Shout.  After a couple of twists it does not shout but rather screams quite loud.  As soon as you think it is over it gets interesting.  The last major drop was a 90 degree slam into a shelf which likes to remove skin off those whose number has been called.

Here is Kenny's account of the first descent of Pinch Creek
