Little Whitestick Creek Beckley, WV (class? - two falls one marginally runnable Upper Falls (25+) and the Lower Teacup Falls ~20ft)

Whitestick Creek drains Beckley, WV so the water quality is probably less than good.  But its bigger sister creek, Cranberry Creek has even worse water quality with the sewage plant directly at the first drop which is a shame due to all the great drops that it has.  Cranberry Creek, referred to as "Secret Creek" on this website previously, drops into Piney at an impressive 300fpm and has several amazing drops but the water quality is bad enough to be a serious health risk.  Cranberry Creek also boasts numerous mines that drain directly in.  On Whitestick there are two falls that we scouted back in January and Feburary 2006.  The upper falls is nasty and the lower looks great except the effort required to huck.  A twenty foot wall must be scaled to put on and huck the Lower Teacup Falls.  Chris and I arrived around 8 pm on June 26th after running Batoff Creek as local streams basically began to flood.  After hiking over to below the falls we setup belay to climb up.  Chris went first as can be viewed in the video.  I climbed up and hucked second but the lighting was practically nightfall.  Upon sliding into the current above there was no turning back.  There was a good bit of work involved from scouting to waiting for water to actually climbing up there and hucking it, but it resulted in a very cool feeling of satisfaction.  If we are not the first just let us know and we will drop our claim.
