The Marshall University Office of Outreach and Continuing Studies is proud to offer a variety of educational programs and services designed to help members of the West Virginia National Guard earn a college degree.

Marshall University and the West Virginia National Guard have teamed up to bring the classroom to you. The Military Degree Program (RBA) is designed to provide educational opportunities for West Virginia 167th Airlift Wing Air National Guard members and their immediate family close to where they live and work. The cost of this program is minimal for the student. The West Virginia National Guard pays for classes and the student pays a one time admissions fee to Marshall University and for their own books each semester. Financial assistance is available to help students.

Classes are held at local armories on weekday nights as well as online.

Features of this program include:

  • College credit for military career
  • College classes on site (National Guard Armories)
  • College classes online
  • National Guard pays for classes
  • Immediate family member eligible for classes at reduced rate
