HIS view

Registration advantages are deserved

In one word: yes. They are. I am a JMS and I've worked hard my whole life to succeed in school. Finally, I get to college and someone gives me credit for the work I've done. Finally, someone says, "Hey, since you've worked hard for the last 12 years, we're gonna give you a break."

I know that without my scholarship, I wouldn't be in college right now. I can't afford it. Worrying about my gpa and having to pay bills and whether or not my cats are going to starve to death are enough problems. I shouldn't have to wait in line behind a bunch of old frat farts just because their mommies and daddies pay to have them go to school.

Yeager scholars and Honor students work hard. We have to. Early registration is just one way of taking a little less pressure off over-pressured students.

Thank you,

- Adicus Garton
Huntington freshman

P.S. - I'm not in any way calling Christopher S. Kinsolving a frat fart. Nor do I wish to offend him; I only wish to open his eyes to a new perspective.
