From spaghetti to gyros: Huntington not shy of places to eat

With college life often consisting of dorm or apartment food, Marshall students sometimes get the craving to eat out. 

There’s no problem with that around Marshall. Hunt-ington has a variety of restaurants that are a short drive or within walking distance of the campus and may cater to some of the most intense cravings. 

Applebee’s, 1135 Third Ave., has a casual dining atmosphere. The restaurant serves everything from salads to steaks. An average meal costs about $5 to $10. All the ribs "you can eat" is Tuesday's’ special and cost from $9 to $10. On Wednesday, the special is a dollar off on fajitas. 

Jim’s Steak and Spaghetti House, 920 Fifth Ave., serves spaghetti, ravioli and sandwiches. The restaurant is well known for its fish sandwich. They serve homemade pies as well. An average lunch will cost about $5 to $6, while dinner will cost about $7. 

Chili Willi's Mexican Cantina, 841 Fourth Ave., is a Tex-Mex, Southwestern type of restaurant. The average cost of a meal is about $6.50. Specials are on Friday and Saturday night and all day Sunday. They are open 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 3 to 10 p.m. Sunday. 

Calamity Cafe, 1555 Third Ave., serves Southwestern American cuisine. The average cost of a meal is about $5 to $12. Wednesday night at 10:30 p.m. has live entertainment. 

Heritage Station, 15 Heritage Village, has a standard fare of food with the restaurant claiming they have the "best ribs in the Tri-State." An average lunch can cost about $6 to $21.99 and dinner starting at $12.99. There are daily specials with Friday having seafood. On Wednesday nights, there is the "Party on the Patio" with live entertainment. 

Red Lobster, 200 Tenth St., offers a variety of seafood dishes. The average cost of a meal is about $10. They run special promotions about four times a year. 

BW-3 Grill and Bar, 746 Fourth Ave., slogan is "Home of the Real Wing." The restaurant serves chicken wings and a choice of sauces. They also serve sandwiches and salads. The average cost is about $5. Tuesday's’ special is 25 cent wings and Wednesdays’ is 50 cent legs. 

Dwight’s, 601 First St., serves breakfast, sandwiches and some dinners. An average will can cost $3.50 to $4.50. There are daily specials that cost about $5.50 on food such as steak and chicken. 

Mycroft’s, 1947 Third Ave., serves a standard fare of food including sandwiches and pasta. The restaurant serves lunch specials Monday through Friday. An average meal costs about $6 to $7.
