The Parthenon Online is the World Wide Web edition of The Parthenon, Marshall University's student newspaper. Responsibility for news and editorial content on this site lies solely with The Parthenon editors. All photographs and text on this site ©2000 The Parthenon. The Parthenon Online is produced by Ted Dickinson, with assistance from Dr. Ralph J. Turner, Marilyn McClure, and the Parthenon staff. The Parthenon Online is updated Monday through Thursday evenings during regular school sessions and Wednesday evenings during the summer in conjunction with the publication of The Parthenon's print edition. The Parthenon (304)696-6696 Butch Barker, editor Barker, from Mason County, W.Va., is a senior majoring in print journalism. Barker has worked with The Parthenon since Spring 1997, when he started as the editorial cartoonist. Since that time Barker has worked as the summer wire editor, Life! editor, summer editor and managing editor. During the summer of 1999, Barker worked as a police beat reporter for The Herald-Dispatch in Huntington and worked as an intern for the Point Pleasant Register in the summer of 1998.
Andrea Copley, managing editor Copley began her career with The Parthenon, like many journalism majors,
as a reporter in the fall of 1997 where she was named the Reporter of
the Year in 1998. She lives in Kenova,
Rebeccah Cantley, news editor Cantley has been working with The Parthenon for three years. She started as the wire editor and has since worked as a staff writer, news editor, editor and is now the news editor for a second time. Cantley is a senior from Shady Spring, W.Va., majoring in print journalism. Cantley has done two internships with The Register-Herald in Beckley and one with The Cincinnati Enquirer.
Aaron Runyon, sports editor Runyon, from Chesapeake, Ohio, is a junior majoring in print journalism. This is his first semester working as an editor for The Parthenon. Runyon is also a sports stringer for the Charleston Daily Mail.
Carrie Smith, wire editor Smith, from Moundsville, W.Va., is a senior majoring in print journalism. Like Runyon, Smith is a newcomer to The Parthenon staff.
Jacob Messer, Life! editor Messer has worked for The Parthenon for four years. He has worked as assistant sports editor, sports editor, managing editor, editor and is now trying something new as life! editor. Messer is a senior from Madison, W.Va., majoring in print journalism. He has worked as a sports stringer for the Charleston Daily Mail since 1997 and completed an internship at The Daily Mail in 1998. He did a second internship in 1999 at The State in Columbia, S. C.
Ted Dickinson, online editor This is Dickinson's second semester working as an online editor for The Parthenon. He recently did an online internship with the Naples Daily News in Naples, Fla. Dickinson is a senior from Huntington, W.Va., majoring in print journalism.
Terri Blair, photo editor The Parthenon welcomes Blair as first-time photo editor. Blair, from Huntington, W.Va., is a senior pursuing a Regents B.A. degree. Blair worked as a photographer for The Parthenon in fall 1999.
