Dorm floor evacuated
Twin Towers East students were evacuated at 11 p.m Sunday night after a fire alarm went off on the 10th floor.
Dustin Burgess, freshman said, "I was in my bed and the fire alarm went off. Somebody said that it was a smoke bomb. I left my room and I went out of the building."
Other students were in a floor meeting when the smoke started. MUPD came to the 10th floor and evacuated the students out of their rooms.
"There was a fire alarm in our dispatch records at 11:12 p.m. [Sunday] in Twin Towers East," said Captain Mark Rhodes, Assistant Director of Public Safety. "It did say that it was a smoke detector outside a room which was activated." |
