Student arrested on charge of driving under the influence

The following information was taken from Marshall University Police Department reports:
Nicholas S. Evans 19, was arrested at 1:09 a.m. Sept. 12 on a charge of driving under the influence.
Officers said they saw a white Chevrolet Z28 speed out of the parking lot on the west side of the Joan C. Edwards Performing Arts Center and onto John Marshall Drive. The suspect then turned south onto Sixth Avenue.
Officers said they saw the suspect spin his tires and drive into the grass behind the performing arts center.
According to the report, the car nearly struck two parked cars and several students on the sidewalk.
The officers stopped the driver, who was identified as Evans. Officers noted both front tires of the Z28 were smoking and completely flat. According to reports, Evans had a strong smell of alcohol on his breath.
Evans was placed under arrest and taken to the Huntington Police Department. Later, he was moved to the Cabell County Jail with a reported blood-alcohol content of .126.
UNDERAGE DRINKING: Bradley D. Balevic, 19, and Nicholas A. Feola, 18, were issued arrest citations Sept. 6 on charges of unlawful drinking under the age of 21. Officers said they saw two males trying to activate the help phone located between the John Deaver Drinko Library and Old Main.
The officers approached the two males and identified them as Balevic and Feola. Officers said both Balevic and Feola had a strong smell of alcohol on their breaths and slurred speech.
Balevic and Feola admitted to drinking and were issued the arrest citations, according to the report.
LARCENY: On Sept. 8 a person reported that $93 was taken from her purse located in Henderson Center 1012.
A building service worker said they saw two white males, and one white female leaving the office area.
The worker approached the suspects and asked them what they were doing there. The suspects then ran down the hallway. The larceny is still under investigation. |
