Sweatequity Day accomplished much on campus
Look around you.
The bricks around the Memorial Student Center Plaza are free of gum,
Old Main's windows are cleaner and a car wash raised $171.10 for the
Emergency Loan Fund.
This past Saturday, an estimated 250 students worked to make their campus
better through Sweatequity Day, an idea that President Dan Angel brought
with him from Stephen F. Austin University.
The students worked for about two hours to undo the damage from the
elements, normal wear and tear and students.
We're pretty sure those students who spent their Saturday scraping gum
off the sidewalks will not throw their chewing gum down again.
We just hope other students who slept in Saturday will be as considerate.
