Independence Daze brings action to student center by AMY M. LYNCH Student Activities Programming Board will host Independence Daze Sept. 5-8. Sept. 5 and 6, the Student Organization Fair will take place from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sept. 7, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the Memorial Student Center Plaza. Cotton candy and snow cones will be served from noon until 5 p.m. Beki Hemingway will perform from noon until 2 p.m. at the MSC Amphitheater Sept. 5. Saturday Night Coin Casino will take place in the Don Morris Room of the MSC from 1 to 6 p.m. Comedian Rob Paravonian will perform at 8 p.m. followed by a rock concert with Gregory Paul at 9 at the MSC Amphitheater. Live music will continue Sept. 6 with Brad Yoder performing at noon at the MSC Amphitheater. At 8 p.m., comedian Marty Putz will perform followed by the R&B group Imani at 9:30 p.m. Say What? Karaoke Live tryouts will highlight the entertainment planned for Sept. 7 from noon to 6 p.m. at the MSC Amphitheater. The finals will be at 12:30 p.m. at the MSC Amphitheater. The winner will receive a cash prize. The activities Sept. 8 will focus on building a better Marshall. Sweat Equity Day will begin at 10 a.m. on the MSC Plaza and end with a lunch at 12:30 p.m. In the event of rain, activities will be moved inside the MSC Lobby.
