A bomb threat Wednesday morning cleared the federal
courthouse and the federal building in Huntington. |
Laidley residents gathered to learn about the history of Marshall
University Tuesday night. Students learned how the school developed,
financial problems it faced and many stories behind how Marshall came
to be a university.
Comedian Seth Buchwald is scheduled to perform in Marco's
at 11 p.m. Buchwald's performance, which will kick off parent's
weekend activities, is part of Thursday Night Live sponsored by
the Student Activities Programming Board.

The West Virginia Higher Education Policy Commission has filed the
request budget with the state. This is the process that finances all
the state funded institutions. Gov. Bob Wise and the state legislature
will pass a finalized budget bill after the first of next year.
Marshall graduate courses are being offered through Shawnee State
University for the first time this semester in two programs.
Marshall's June Harless Center is educating young students about
Appalachian culture.
The College of Education has raised standards for new students
entering the program.
The author of 22 books and 150 articles on violence will speak
Monday at Marshall.
Underage drinking, assault, larceny, destruction and vandalization
and striking an unattended vehicle
