'Tis the season to be givingby AMY M. LYNCH The holidays are in full swing, and the Baptist Campus Ministry is working to make the season a little brighter for local citizens. BCM is sponsoring a coat drive in connection with the Huntington City Mission. Donations can be made by taking used coats to the Campus Christian Center (CCC) until Dec. 7, Jerry Losh, BCM director, said. The coats will be taken to the Huntington City Mission for distribution after they are cleaned. "The Mission has a better idea of who in the community is in need," Losh said. Also on BCM's holiday agenda is a Christmas play. Chris Millens, senior and member of BCM, wrote the play scheduled to be performed at 9:15 p.m. Wednesday in the CCC. BCM members are scheduled to go caroling Dec. 12 in Hurricane. BCM participates in other community outreach projects throughout the year, including Operation Shoe Box Ministry, Habitat for Humanity and senior citizen projects, Losh said. "People are in a giving mood around the holidays, but we have to remember there are people in need all year," Losh said. Losh said anyone is welcome to participate in the festivities. More information on the events can be obtained by calling Losh at the Campus Christ-ian Center at 696-3053. |
