The Thundering Herd football team is practicing before playing Ohio University. The team has faced challenges on and off the field this semester. Players were suspended for NCAA violations before the first game. Later, wide receiver Darius Watts was arrested on felony malicious wounding and misdemeanor battery charges that stemmed from a fight at the University Courtyard Apartments Sept. 30. Despite these controversies, the team has achieved a record of 10-1 and a place in the MAC championship and GMAC Bowl.

Art senior Tim Henderson, left, explains his artwork to graphic design major Chris Reese. Students like Henderson have displayed and sold their artwork in the Birke Art Gallery and Memorial Student Center, as well as other locations on campus.

Track team member Nimal Bailey, a Brooklyn, N.Y., freshman, practices his competition event, hurdles, at the Walter "Lefty" Rollins Track.

Some students objected to the Athletic Department's hiring of Kelly Services to administer game-day parking instead of leasing the lots to student organizations, who would sell spaces as a fund raiser.

The Marching Thunder warms up before performing at the Ohio University game Nov. 17. The band will join the football team at the MAC championship in Toledo, Ohio, and the GMAC Bowl in Mobile, Ala.
