Ms. Karen A. Barker, M. A.
Executive Assistant to the Dean
Karen Barker graduated from Marshall in 2010 with a Master of Arts in Communication Studies with an emphasis in organizational communication. Ms. Barker has been with Marshall University since 2005, most recently serving as the Administrative Assistant for the Center for Teaching and Learning.
As Executive Assistant, Ms. Barker works closely with the dean to ensure that the strategic vision and mission of the School of Pharmacy is met and exceeded. She assists in developing long and short range plans for the school, serves as a liaison with community organizations and the general public, and works to generate regional exposure for the school through collaboration on public affairs and communications. Ms. Barker provides all administrative support to the dean and executive faculty, directs office services, coordinates budgets, develops and maintains the school’s website, and works with other university units to ensure that administrative functions of the school are accomplished in an effective and timely manner.
