Research Interests
Dr. Davis's research revolves around the concept of citizenship both as a political construction and as a source of participatory action. He is currently working on a project exploring the relationship between place and political participation in Appalachia. Specifically, this project investigates the ways in which citizen movements employ local identity to resist the practice of mountaintop removal.
Dr. Davis will be attending the National Endowment for the Humanities Summer Institute, "Appalachia Up Close," from June 8 until July 4, 2008.
