Registration for the Summer 2008 began on March 31st.

Registration for the Fall 2008 semester began on April 14th.

PSC Alumna to Coordinate Governor Manchin's Reelection Campaign

Political Science Alumna Sara Payne Scarboro has been appointed by Governor Manchin to be the coordinator for his 2008 gubernatorial reelection campaign. She has taken an unpaid leave of absence as Deputy Press Secretary for Governor Manchin. Sara served in this same capacity for the last six months of Governor Wise's term and has worked for the West Virginia Democratic Party as Communications Director and Director of Special Projects. Way to go, Sara!

Political Science Seniors Elected delegates to WV State GOP Convention

Lauren Myers and Nora Joseph Ankrom, both seniors in the Department of Political Science, were elected as delegates to the West Virginia Republican convention which was held on Super Tuesday, February 5, 2008. Lauren represented Marshall County and Nora represented Cabell County at the convention.

Faculty News

Dr. George Davis has been chosen to attend the National Endowment for the Humanities Summer Institute, "Appalachia Up Close," at Ferrum College in southwestern VA. The Summer Institute runs from June 8 until July 4, 2008.

Professors George Davis, Jess Morrissette, and Jamie Warner presented papers at the annual meeting of the Western Political Science Conference March 19-22, in San Diego, CA.

Dr. Jamie Warner's article "Spectacular Resistance: The Billionaires for Bush and the Art of Political Cultur e Jamming" (with Margaret Farrar) will appear in the June issue of the journal Polity.

Dr. Robert Behrman's and Dr. Cheryl Brown's article “Capstone for Political Science Majors: The Content is the Service” will be published in the 2008 Fall/Winter issue of Journal of Public Affairs Education (JPAE 13(3/4):585-591).
