Initiative: Focus resources on advancing centers of excellence:

Center for Environmental Research, Assessment and Policy

The faculty and staff of the Colleges of Science and Information Technology and Engineering have the technical and professional expertise to assess environmental quality and to plan and implement the remediation of environmental damage.   Individual staff specialties include risk assessment, environmental planning, best management practices, environmental modeling, and environmental remediation.  Faculty has broad experience in assessment of biotic diversity from terrestrial and aquatic systems.  Personnel from the center have extensive work experience with local, state, and federal agencies and commercial interests.  The center is associated with Master of Science degree programs in Watershed Resource Science and Watershed Resource Management that are jointly managed through Colleges of Science and Information Technology and Engineering.
