Hapneyphoto Terry L. Hapney, Jr., Adviser
Professor Hapney is an assistant professor of public relations in the W. Page Pitt School of Journalism and Mass Communications at Marshall University (MU). Hapney is a life-long resident of the Tri-State area (with the exception of the years he lived in Lexington while at UK). He and his wife have two sons, ages 8 and 7, and a 4-year-old daughter they adopted from China. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in communication (B.A.) from the University of Kentucky, a Master of Arts in Journalism and Mass Communications (M.A.J.) from Marshall University, and is a Ph.D. candidate (ABD-all but dissertation) at the University of Dayton.

Hapney was a former journalism and communication professor at Shawnee State University (SSU) in Portsmouth, Ohio. He served as adviser to SSU's student newspaper-The University Chronicle-and SSU's student radio group-The Free Voice Society. Hapney was also director of communications and assistant to the president at the university-the chief public relations administrator. Prior to SSU, Hapney was the director of promotions and public relations for Atlantic Star Communications (predecessor of Clear Channel Communications) Huntington-Ashland-Ironton where he was the highest-rated evening and midday radio personality on the number-one-rated 103.3 WTCR.

President Jodee Hammond, President
Jodee is a senior from Moundsville, W.Va., majoring in public relations with a minor in political science. She received her first internship at Charleston Area Medical Center in the summer of 2008. She wrote news releases and feature stories and assisted in the production of radio and television commercials. During the fall of 2008, she worked at Southwestern Community Action Council where she gained experience in the non-profit side of public relations. In addition to PRSSA, Jodee was a director of SIFE's I Choose program, treasurer/secretary of SIFE and wrote for Mid-Ohio Valley Parent Magazine. She is currently a member of the Gamma Beta Phi Honor Society. After graduation, Jodee hopes to move to Nashville, Tenn. to work in entertainment public relations.

vicepresident Kimberly Bradley, Vice President
Kimberly is a senior who grew up in southern West Virginia. When she is not at work or in class, she enjoys watching LOST, hanging out with friends and reading. She has really grown to love public relations and the contacts that she has made along the way. Her goal is to one day be an event planner and own her own business independently.

treasurer Angela Sundstrom, Secretary/Treasurer
Angela Sundstrom is a junior public relations major from Fayetteville, W. Va. Besides PRSSA, she is involved with student ambassadors and tennis club as well as writing for the school newspaper The Parthenon. After graduation, Angela hopes to work in either entertainment or tourism public relations.

director Kacie Chambers, PR Director/Firm Director
Kacie Chambers is a senior public relations major and marketing minor at Marshall University (MU). Kacie is currently working as a public relations practitioner at Marshall University's Center for International Programs where she markets MU as a destination for international students. She will be graduating in May 2009. After graduation she plans to move to North Carolina to work in event planning PR.
