Tour Our Campus
One of the most important things you can do when trying to make your college decision is to visit the campuses of the schools you are considering. Whether you come to one of our daily presentations and tours or attend our Green and White Day Open House, seeing our campus and meeting our students, faculty, and staff will help you decide if Marshall is the best place for you!
Daily Presentations:
Your visit will begin at the Gillette Welcome Center, conveniently located at the corner of Hal Greer and 5th Avenue. Visitor parking is available by permit, which will be given to you upon your arrival.
One of our enrollment advisors will lead you through an information session touching on both the academic and social characteristics of the university.
Then a Marshall University student ambassador will lead you on a tour of our beautiful and compact campus. These activities will take approximately two hours to complete.
Following the presentation and tour, you can visit our bookstore, eat in one of our dining halls, meet a representative from a program of interest, or sit in on a class. Simply let Patty Carman, our tour coordinator, know what you’d like to do while you’re here when you schedule your tour, and she’ll be happy to make the appropriate appointments for you.
Presentation and Tour Schedule (excluding holidays):
Monday – Friday: 10 AM – Noon
Friday: 1 PM – 3 PM
Saturday: Contact the Welcome Center for available dates
Green and White Days (Open House):
Our Green and White Days are a great way to get a more extensive look at Marshall University and all we have to offer. From our opening session in the Joan C. Edwards Playhouse, until the program concludes with a campus tour, you will hear from and interact with Marshall University students, faculty and staff, who will give you a personal perspective on Marshall.
Our Green and White Day program includes:
• a welcome from the university President
• opportunities to speak with academic colleges, student services offices and student organizations
• information about financial aid and admissions requirements
• a student panel presenting perspectives on academics, student activities, and campus life
• an academic showcase, providing you more detailed information on the major of your choice
• a free lunch in one of our dining halls
• campus tours (including our Freshman Year Residence Halls and Recreation Center)
Fall Green and White Days will be Saturday, September 19, 2009 and Saturday, November 7, 2009. Space is limited, so make your reservation today by calling 877-GOHERD1 or you can register online.
