Welcome
to the main page of the Research and Creativities Advisory Council!
Those of us who worked on the research and creative
activities portion of the 2010 strategic plan found a common passion
for institutional growth in these areas. One strong recommendation
is the creation of a Research and Creative Activities Advisory Council
made up of faculty representatives from all colleges and institutes.
The primary purpose of the Council would be to find
ways to enhance Marshall's research and creative activities through
the identification of common challenges and a collective search
for effective solutions. By definition, this is an advisory council.
As such, the Council will not make policy, but rather make recommendations
for change that can be constituted at other levels.
The members of the council
are recommended by the deans and institute directors of the respective
department. They are highly recognized for their understanding and
commitment to the related issues. They will serve as a liaison between
the Marshall University Research Corporation, the Office of the
Vice President for Research and their college/institute. This will
involve keeping colleagues informed and bringing their suggestions
back to the Council. It will include a respect for different views
and a willingness to seek the common good above individual preferences.
Please find your Council representative and work
with us to ensure a vigorous growth in research opportunities at
Marshall University.
