Break Housing

During the fall, winter, and spring breaks we offer break housing to those who need to stay on campus due to work or other extenuating circumstances. For the fall and spring breaks there is no extra charge. For the winter break a daily charge will be billed to your account. Call (304) 696-6766 or email residence-services@marshall.edu to find out the daily rate.

As a school break approaches, applications will be placed at the front desks of each residence hall, or you may print one off by clicking on the application link here. Look for information on the deadlines for break housing in our monthly newsletter, on this website, posted on your floor, or by asking your Resident Advisor. Applications received after the deadline may not be honored.

Break housing residents are housed in Twin Towers West and Twin Towers East. If you are not currently a resident of those buildings, you will need to find a resident of those buildings who will be willing to let you stay in their room. This resident must be identified on your application or you will be placed either in an empty room or a study lounge depending on capacity. If you do not know anyone whose room you can stay in, let us know and we will do our best to find you housing in an empty room or specially furnished lounge.

Resident Advisors, a Resident Director, and front desk security are still available during the breaks. Meals in the dining halls are unavailable during the breaks. Information on dining hall hours and costs will be sent to you or posted prior to the break.
