How to apply for housing in the First Year Student Residence Halls:

(1) Obtain and complete Freshman Housing Application. You can obtain an application the following ways:

  1. Request by mail by calling 1-800-438-5391or 304-696-6766
  2. By sending an e-mail to residence-services@marshall.edu
  3. Obtain one at the Department of Residence Services located in Holderby Hall on Marshall's Huntington Campus
  4. Download the application online:

  5. Access, complete and submit electronically by clicking on the link below:

(2) Return completed application to the Department of Residence Services if not submitted electronically.

Include the following:

  1. Housing application
  2. $200 Room Reservation Deposit payable to Marshall University

(3) Upon receiving your completed application and confirming admission to the university, a contract packet will be sent to the address listed on your application. Return the contract packet which includes a Housing Contract, Meal Plan Contract, and Roommate Matching Form to:

Rooms are assigned based upon the date the Housing Contract is received.

(4) Assignments will be completed in early June and early July.
