Twin
Towers East is a contemporary fifteen-story men's residence
with a capacity of 490 students. It offers a large lobby,
computer room, TV lounge and study areas, and individually
controlled room air conditioners. A special wellness floor
option is available on the sixth floor of East. Rooms and
bathrooms on the second and fourth floors offer additional
special facilities for physically challenged residents.
A cafeteria, which connects Twin Towers West and Twin Towers
East, is located on the first floor. The Twin Towers East

ROOMS/FLOORS
All rooms in Twin Towers East are reserved for
double occupancy (unless space permits single rooms).
There are a total of 18 rooms per floor. All rooms
are close to the same size and dimensions. Each room
has a spacious double closet with storage areas above.
All rooms are fully furnished and have two beds (captain
style with pull out drawers below), two desks, two
chairs, two wastebaskets, a pull blind on the window.
There is a cellular telephone provided to each student.
All rooms have a cable connection. Cable is included
in basic hall fees. Each room also contains an air
conditioning/heating unit so you and your roommate
can keep the room the exact temperature you prefer
(Note: Windows are sealed for safety reasons in all
buildings with air conditioning). All rooms are fully
carpeted and have a tack board.

There
are two bathrooms per floor, each with two showers, one bath,
and three toilets. Each bathroom is shared by the eighteen
residents living on your side of the floor. There is one Resident
Advisor (RA) per floor who is responsible for helping residents
with any problems they may face and maintaining the rules
of the floor/hall. Each RA will have several meetings with
their floor members over the course of the year. The RA's
are also responsible for planning their floor's group social
activities. There is also a study room located on each floor.
The study rooms provide a quiet area for students to study.

COMPUTERS
Every
room in Twin Towers East has an ethernet connection
to Marshall's local area network. This means that,
once connected, students can access any network programs
licensed by Marshall University (including the Microsoft
Office Suite, Windows 2000 and XP, and many other
programs), access their V: drives (the V: drive is
an allocation of hard disk space on Marshall's server
reserved for the students use that can be accessed
from anywhere on campus), check their Marshall e-mail
account, and use the Internet. DRS does not supply
a computer, but the connection and cables will be
provided free of charge (Note: You will need to purchase
a network interface card (NIC) ). If you don't have
a PC, don't worry, there is a computer lab open to
all TTE residents located in the lobby on the first
floor. This 10 PC lab is configured similar to all
other university computer labs and has Microsoft Office,
Internet Explorer, Netscape, telnet and FTP clients.

LOBBY
AND LOUNGES
The
lobby of Twin Towers East is staffed 24 hours a day. These
staff members will ensure everything runs smoothly throughout
the hall and help to uphold the regulations of the hall.
The lobby area has two separate lounges-the glass lounge
and the TV lounge. Both of these lounges are open 24 hours
a day. In the glass lounge there is a ping pong table, pool
table, and comfortable chairs to relax in. The TV lounge
has a television and a large, comfortable seating area.
There are vending machines in the lobby including pop machines,
candy machines, and a sandwich machine. A microwave oven
is available for students in the lobby area.

OTHER
FEATURES
There
are a number of special interest floors located in Twin
Towers East. Several floors are designated SAFE, smoke free,
and living learning communities. The 13th, 14th, and 15th
floors are designated as quiet floors, and have stricter
noise regulations and lengthened quiet hours to respect
the needs of students who desire a high degree of quiet.
There
is a laundry room located on each floor with one washer
and one dryer. The laundry room on every other floor contains
a pop machine. These facilities are currently coin and ID
card operated.

COSTS
The
cost of living on campus is lower than many private apartments.
The rates for the residence halls include all utilities,
basic cable, cellular telephone, Internet service provider
(unlimited hours-24 hours a day, direct constant connection,
high speed 10base-T ethernet, defined assigned IP Number),
access to residence services facilities (including lounges
and recreational facilities), and ability to participate
in hall activities. Meal plans are in addition to room fees.
