ROOMS/FLOORS

All rooms in Twin Towers East are reserved for double occupancy (unless space permits single rooms). There are a total of 18 rooms per floor. All rooms are close to the same size and dimensions. Each room has a spacious double closet with storage areas above. All rooms are fully furnished and have two beds (captain style with pull out drawers below), two desks, two chairs, two wastebaskets, a pull blind on the window. There is a cellular telephone provided to each student. All rooms have a cable connection. Cable is included in basic hall fees. Each room also contains an air conditioning/heating unit so you and your roommate can keep the room the exact temperature you prefer (Note: Windows are sealed for safety reasons in all buildings with air conditioning). All rooms are fully carpeted and have a tack board.

There are two bathrooms per floor, each with two showers, one bath, and three toilets. Each bathroom is shared by the eighteen residents living on your side of the floor. There is one Resident Advisor (RA) per floor who is responsible for helping residents with any problems they may face and maintaining the rules of the floor/hall. Each RA will have several meetings with their floor members over the course of the year. The RA's are also responsible for planning their floor's group social activities. There is also a study room located on each floor. The study rooms provide a quiet area for students to study.

COMPUTERS

Every room in Twin Towers East has an ethernet connection to Marshall's local area network. This means that, once connected, students can access any network programs licensed by Marshall University (including the Microsoft Office Suite, Windows 2000 and XP, and many other programs), access their V: drives (the V: drive is an allocation of hard disk space on Marshall's server reserved for the students use that can be accessed from anywhere on campus), check their Marshall e-mail account, and use the Internet. DRS does not supply a computer, but the connection and cables will be provided free of charge (Note: You will need to purchase a network interface card (NIC) ). If you don't have a PC, don't worry, there is a computer lab open to all TTE residents located in the lobby on the first floor. This 10 PC lab is configured similar to all other university computer labs and has Microsoft Office, Internet Explorer, Netscape, telnet and FTP clients.

LOBBY AND LOUNGES

The lobby of Twin Towers East is staffed 24 hours a day. These staff members will ensure everything runs smoothly throughout the hall and help to uphold the regulations of the hall. The lobby area has two separate lounges-the glass lounge and the TV lounge. Both of these lounges are open 24 hours a day. In the glass lounge there is a ping pong table, pool table, and comfortable chairs to relax in. The TV lounge has a television and a large, comfortable seating area. There are vending machines in the lobby including pop machines, candy machines, and a sandwich machine. A microwave oven is available for students in the lobby area.
