MINUTES OF THE FACULTY EVALUATION AND COMPENSATION

AD HOC COMMITTEE

 

MEETING DATE: APRIL 11, 2003

 

ORDER OF BUSINESS:

 

-         To meet that deadline, planning pages must be in place by Academic Year 2004.  These pages must be ready to go at that time. 

-         It was further indicated that this whole process is being driven by the need to have an evaluation procedure across the campus.

 

A discussion then followed about 4 point scales versus 5 point scales and what to label these scales.

 

The student rating committee hopes to complete its rating questionnaire by this summer and have the document approved by the committee as a whole before the start of the Fall semester.

The committee agreed to proceed with work on Step 4 of Arreola’s program.  A question arose in the committee about the Faculty Role documents vis-à-vis the Green Book.

 

A discussion followed about the concept of merit.  All agreed to proceed with Arreola’s Step 4.
