Faculty Evaluation and Compensation Committee Minutes, November 11, 2004

Members Present:  Shirley Lumpkin, Jerry Jones, Barbara Loebach, Don Van Horn, Michael Cornfeld, Sandra Marra, Michael Castellani, Janet Dooley

Ex-officio members present:  Sarah Denman, Elaine Baker, Jim Sottile, Larry Stickler 

1. The Committee named the new recommendation to be presented to Faculty Senate, November 18, 2004:  “Revised FECC Guidelines Reflecting Feedback”
    

2. The minutes of the last meeting were accepted as amended (editorial)
    

3. Discussion of positions of Colleges on the document.
    

4. Discussion of piloted student rating instrument that emphasized the instrument revolves around 4 constructs and has appropriate internal reliability (NOT validity).
    

5. Discussion concluding the committee needs to know the history of the guidelines for the use of student rating forms through pulling Senate recommendations and policy in the Greenbook.
    

6. Discussion of the END of things and mopping up.
    

7. The next meeting will be set after the Faculty Senate vote on November 18 and after Thanksgiving.
